Padre Escapes Blog: Schlitterbahn

We here at Padre Escapes were recently given the opportunity to tour the Schlitterbahn development here on Padre Island. And while much of what you see from the road may be disappointing once you get on the actual park grounds it is very impressive!

The creativity that’s gone into this project is mind-boggling. How one person or one group of people could’ve pictured such a project when this was just simply the Padre Isles Country Club is unimaginable. While many may be disappointed in their progress, how far they’ve actually come is really a complement to everyone involved with the project. It’s hard to see how much work has actually been done until your standing on the top floor of that building looking out over the whole development.

We’re all going to benefit from this park. Not just financially but in the fact that we’ll have a one of a kind waterpark and a great Year-Round venue for a variety of events such concerts, conferences, weddings, etc.

Every project has bumps in the road but with a project of this magnitude the bumps are much bigger. A long-term project like this takes time, it doesn’t happen over 1 or even 2 years and they only get one chance to build it. They’ve spent the time and money to research their plans and their big picture plans for The Island is perhaps the only thing more impressive than the park itself.

We whole heartedly believe in the Schlitterbahn development and look forward to its continued progress.
